A comfortable modern hotel at one end of the famous hiking trail across Mount Huangshan. The trail is one of China's most famous scenic attractions.

There is a spectacular hiking trail between these two hotels.

Remember not to carry heavy luggage with you to the mountain, although there are porters available.

Concorde Travel can pre-arrange everything for you, including the pre-booking of the cable cars, porters etc, if required.

Avoid summer holiday time because the crowds are impossible.

The Cloud Valley Hotel (Yun Gu Shan Zhuang)

| 100 rooms |China, Anhui, Huang Shan (Yellow Mountain)

This hotel is at the base of the mountain. Located an easy 5 minute walk from the bottom station of the Cloud Valley Temple (Yun Gu) Cable Car, the hotel is surrounded by peaks in a beautiful tranquil environment of green trees and bamboo. It’s especially convenient if you want to ascend the mountain early in the morning to catch the sunrise.

The hotel’s accommodation is designed in accordance with traditional Chinese Hui architectural philosophy and is split into four main areas: North (Pine Charm Hall); South (Bamboo Stream Building); East (Stopping Cloud Pavilion) and West (Lying Stone Bar). All rooms are air conditioned, with modern bathrooms (24-hour hot water) telephone and satellite TV.

Outside is a beautiful Chinese garden, with streams, carved stone tablets and thousand year-old trees under a Grade One protection rating.

The hotel has several restaurants, serving Chinese and Western cuisine, where it’s said that some of the food on the menu comes straight out of the wilds surrounding the hotel.

For those with more time, it is suggested that a night be spent at this hotel before ascending the mountain by cable car. The first night on the mountain can be spent at the comfortable Beihai Hotel and the following day you can make the long hike, up and down numerous steep staircases, across the mountain top to the Jade Screen Hotel for another overnight. Another cable car is close to The Jade Screen Hotel, which you can utilise for your descent if you don't want to walk down the mountain.
